Too early because of short stay in SG.

IMO, some reasonable chance (can't say it's high though), despite the short amount of time in Singapore.

Just curious, why did you start on PEP instead of EP?

I think you need to work backwards from August 2025. Can your current firm apply for more EPs or are they constrained? And how will you rank under COMPASS? I assume you will rank OK based on education and pay, although you work in a high paying industry and there are firm related factors as well.

Point being you need to allow time for a decision on the PR application, and if it doesn't come through then you either need to be able to switch to an EP at your current firm or start looking for a new job. Waiting two years to apply could start cutting it close.

NYY1, I'm guessing OP applied for PEP while still outside SG. Came to Sg after receiving the IPA and found the job after coming here (ability to shop around and/or pick & choose). OP is between a rock & a hard place as I agree waiting two years cuts it pretty close but the fact he was given the PEP most likely before arriving here, I would think the gahment saw something in the application that we don't know about as the data exchange here is minimal at best. But he really need to be employed for 24 months before application for all intents & purposes (If M'sian or Indo Chinese it's different story) Otherwise I concur with you.

Understand. Tsinghua is a very high ranking/regarded university in China. In these global rankings (however valid or questionable they are), it could probably be higher, but it's not for various reasons. To the extent you want to give out PEPs to people that aren't even here, graduates from there would be a decent place to start (without knowing anything else).

Actually he has 11 years of experience in China before coming here. Would also explain his salary as well.

Thank you for the response, NYY1 and everyone else. I moved here last year with EP and switched to PEP this Feb. I'll be fine with COMPASS and the company will sponsor my EP if the PEP expires.
