Re: American Living Outside SG Applying for PR Through Wife's PR

Thanks to everyone for the feedback. 0.5% were some pretty great odds. To answer the earlier question she is Malaysian Chinese. So having an LTVP and getting the employer to issue an LOC is easier/less restrictions/less red tape than an Employment Pass? I talking with some companies and will be mos...

Re: American Living Outside SG Applying for PR Through Wife's PR

OP, all is not lost. If your spouse is a PR, come here, get an LTVP or LTVP+ (as your spouse is a PR it will probably be an LTVP) if so, take it. It will probably be good for 12 months before it needs to be renewed. This will give you the right to exist here on a residential basis as opposed to a to...

Re: Renouncing Citizenship - 26 year old Canadian born in Singapore

Hi guys, I have come across some very useful information in this forum which is fantastic, but I have not been able to find anyone discussing my specific situation. I would be very grateful for some advice. I was born in Singapore in 1991 to a Singaporean mother and a Canadian Father (which i belie...

Changed a few jobs over the years, with the current one working for about 2 years plus. Basic salary 2K as an admin in a SME. Her birth records is rather complicated,...

You don't have father living long term in Singapore, so basically your mother has her LTVP because of her studying children?

Re: I want to stay in Singapore with my family!! :(

Hello, I'm new here and I'm desperately in need of help. I am South korean and my family and I have been living here for almost 8-9 years now. I graduated from primary, secondary and junior college here last year so I spent most of my childhood in this country. So I guess, Singapore is really my ho...

Re: Recommendations for Property Agents

Pal, so is living for a few weeks in any apartment in Singapore and she would need to live somewhere anyway. IIRC, the cheapest service apartments were in the range 4-6k what doesn't fall that far away from an average condo rental. The cheapest hotel rooms are >$50/day, short term and >$30 longer te...

Re: New Criteria for PEPs w.e.f. 1/12/2012

Another post that puzzles me above is the one stating that 8k is a lot for subcontinentals. Most of the subcontinental professionals I know who work overseas earn way above S$8k/month and the majority probably do earn close to or more than S$18k/month (actually, in my profession, the ones in India ...

Re: RE: Re: New Criteria for PEPs w.e.f. 1/12/2012

Well, that puts some colour on the recent fund-raising dinners my alma mater invited me to. :) It raises an interesting question to ask at the next one if this is indeed the current situation in Singapore and they don't really care about the contributions of outsiders. I hope you start reading the ...

Re: Protocol for answering job adverts?..

Thanks Strong Eagle/Barnsley for the guidance. I wasnt sure whether the salary info worked something like that - so thank you for confirming. It's always best to have the warts and all before making decisions. Kids are 9&11 so yes the school fees are useful. The sites where they compare costs o...
