Long-Term Visit Pass and Permanent Residence applied within a single application

Post by roamtank » Fri, 30 Aug 2024 3:20 pm

Hi All

Anyone here applied Long-Term Visit Pass and Permanent Residence via multiple products within a single application?

How long did it take to approve your LTVP?

Didn't realize that for multiple products applied for within a single application, the processing time will be based on the product with the longer processing time.

Normally, LTVP application is processed within 6 weeks or so, provided all the required documents are submitted and in order.

Appreciate all your inputs in advance.

Thanks

Usually is apply LTVP first and once LTVP approved, wait a few months (or even for 2 years of marriage) then apply PR.

If apply for both immediately after marriage it signals to ICA that the marriage was just for PR even though the marriage is genuine.
Eligible applicant will be given option to apply multiple products within a single application and will be made known to the applicant at the start of the application.

We were given this option that's why we took advantage of it.

I’ve never thought of them as products, but I imagine they will sort you out either way. LTVP typically gets approved earlier, so if it gets approved, I’d expect to see that first. PR typically takes a lot longer, so I’d expect to wait long long.

My wife called ICA and they said that the processing time will be based on the PR one (within 6 months). She asked whether can cancel the ltvp one and reapply as single application, they said that canceling one will cancel the other one as its considered one application. If only we know this thing during application, we could have applied separately.

Anyways I guess we just wait.

Thanks

Usually is apply LTVP first and once LTVP approved, wait a few months (or even for 2 years of marriage) then apply PR.

If apply for both immediately after marriage it signals to ICA that the marriage was just for PR even though the marriage is genuine.

I still can’t get over the word “products” - is that how the ICA is referring to PR and LTVP these days?

Just wondering if you’ve received any news on your applications? I’m in the same boat and wanted to know if it’ll take the longer of the two “products” to process.

Hi Fiona

Both still on pending status. December will be the 5th month. Probably will have good news on January next year.

When did you apply?

Someone did an MBA at Harvard and then joined ICA me thinks.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.

Hi Sara

Still the same, both LTVP and PR pending. This month will be the 6th month.

When did you submit your application?

Thanks
