I am new here, I'm SC while my spouse is a PRC.
It has been a painful ordeal doing all the applications its like running a marathon seriously*(maybe I will backtrack to share more in future)
Currently applying for LTVP (PMLA and LLE approved).
Requested to upload some docs I did so yesterday evening. This morning I checked again and IPA was granted, and required to upload medical checkup report.
I want to find out if let's say my spouse received the LTVP (with PLOC) successfully. Will I be able to quit my job first before I look for a new job ? (I will try my best to land myself a new job within 1-3months)
or
must I be continously employed( finding new job now before i resign and switch to the new job)
I really can't stand working in my current job anymore as recently things have been very tough at work.
Thanks so much!!!
Best regards,
Swj

Do not quit your job until your spouse has gone through the LTVP formalities! You need to show hardcopy of payslip, employment letter, etc at the appointment. If you don’t have, the officer at the counter can easily rescind the LTVP.

To play safe, I would suggest you get through for at least another month at your current job till your spouse complete her formalities. From what I understand you have already got your IPA & pending medical checkup.
With reference from timeline from my wife's LTVP application earlier this year. From receiving pending medical checkup to completing formalities took slightly under a month only. (YMMV)
Nevertheless, my experience differs from MOCHS as the only item I was told to bring was hardcopy passport photo. So it's probably case by case basis. Doesn't hurt to-be-safe.
Cheers

When I did my husband’s LTVP application & renewal from 2019 to 2021, they always requested we bring hardcopies of the documents that were listed, often letter of employment & payslips. Same thing with his PR in 2022.
I am not sure if there have been any changes to the LTVP process in the past 2 years or so.
