Renewal Passport Before Issuing S-Pass

Post by octoberafternoon » Sat, 07 Nov 2015 6:46 pm

Hi,

I need information. My company applied S-Pass (Granted for 6 Months) for me on end of September, and then approved on middle of October. Since my passport at that time (when approved) already 6 Months before expiry date, the employer told me to renewal passport first, and then notify the MoM when issuing the S-Pass card. Because in the letter there is a requirement that the passport must at least 7 months before expiry date. So, when I want to issuing S-Pass, which Passport I need to bring? Just the new one? Or the old one also? Thank you very much.

Hi,

Thank you for the answer. Btw, could I ask some questions again?

1. S-Pass needs insurance medical. The employer already sign up for that last Wednesday. Usually, how long it takes to get the insurance settled?

2. When issuing the card, I need to take a photo and finger print. Is the schedule already arranged by MoM? or I can choose based on my availability?

Once again, thank you for share the information and answer my questions. Happy Sunday! :)

1l) About that. Dipending on what was required in the AIP letter (sometimes it's only a statement (westerners normally) to maybe a HIV & TB test, or just a TB or just an HIV test.

Schedule will be arranged between employer and MoM. You employer will keep you informed.

No, I mean not the medical examination. But, the medical insurance. From what I know, S-Pass needs Medical Insurance that cover at least $15,000/year for the Pass Holder. Nah, usually for registeration until the insurance policy number is out, how long it takes? Thank you.

Should only take a couple of days. Depending on how the employer pays for it.

Should only take a couple of days. Depending on how the employer pays for it. You are in a hurry for some reason? It will be ready when you need it unless the employer screws up something.
