Thanks guys for the reply. We might just give it a try.
And SMS, we are not bothered much if we get rejected.

BTW, does a rejection have a bearing on second PR application?

Somehow, yes, although I personally not sure exactly how. But the current socio-political landscape with regards to PR/citizenship doesn't seem to be good already for certain groups of people. So if I were you, I wouldn't want to ruin my luck with ICA permanently and follow singaporeflyer's advice instead.

People like Mad Scientist or even friendlybossy should say something about this.

And ben8118, you know very well of your very own situation. You're either being a troll to toy around with singaporeexpat9 or you're just dumb.

Hi Lynx,

I got my PR approved after 2 months.

I do not simply jump to conclusion.

You're Malaysian Chinese. OP is Indian. That's why.

I'm not surprised at all. I'm not sure how many times we told him he would have a better chance BECAUSE his was Malaysian Chinese and the flavour of the month/quarter, might be year depending on how the stats are looking with the demographic percentages.

But he might be building someone up for a big letdown and if that happens, you can bet he won't be around on the board (except as a lurker as he's been doing). I hope he's right as the majority of evidence still coming in is pointing the other direction if they are from the subcontinent except in the cases of P1s with incomes in excess of around 10K/mo or special niches/skillsets.

zzm9980,
Are you saying there's racism in this country?

SMS,
If you still remember, I'm asking on whether there's a fee that needs to be paid during PR application. This leads to a big hoo ha on one applying ownself vs in a family unit. Also, on the waiting period time e.g 2 years before lodgement etc.

Yes, you did mentioned about the flavor of the month. What if I tell you that I'm not a Malaysian chinese? What say u?

Thx for your advise. With a rejection having a bearing on future application it could be worth a wait. We will carefully consider what to do.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's Vision for Singapore

"I think it should be a land of opportunity, where everyone has full and equal opportunities to be educated to the limits of his ability, to realise his full potential, and look forward to a better life for themselves or himself, herself, his/her family.

"It will be a country where everyone is treated fairly, regardless of race, language or religion; an economy where rewards depend on your ability and your effort; and for those people with drive imagination ability to create something new, with some talent, the sky is the limit.

Then tell me.

Whatever you are, apparently you didn't quite make the grade when you tried to immigrate to Aust. though, but I'm assuming it was due to lack of experience at the time. Of course now, you have around 8 or 9 years experience so with over 5 years experience in Electronic Engineering, it still might have been enough to swing the tide but I don't believe you are a 7~9%er.

On second though, trying for Aus. looking into UK and finally Singapore. You do fit the mold though, don't you. :-|
