Looking for decent hairdresser/salon for foils

Post by Smiffy » Tue, 28 Aug 2012 12:13 pm

A bit of a long shot so I'm told, but I'm trying to find a hairdresser as just relocated to Singapore. Have been told a few horror stories of expats who have had foils and ended up with green hair! Am a bit nervous.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I live on the east coast but willing to travel.
Cheers

For anyone that is interested, I've been told Toni and Guy is the only place that can do foils without it being a disaster. I've booked an appointment for Saturday, fingers crossed.

Didn't end up with green hair from a nameless salon out West, but have ended up with stripy blonde highlights through dark, dark brown hair.

Which T&G would you recommend? Or are they all much of a muchness? How much is it for a full head?

I went to the East Coast branch. Not entirely happy with the cut or colour to be honest, even though I did take photos of myself taken last year. I think I will just have to get used to change as my cut is bit different to their norm.

The cost was 300 for 1/2 head of foils and a cut. I did ask for a toner/semi permanent colour as well but they were unable to do it.
Good luck. Let me know if you find anywhere good.

I just moved to SG two months and still haven't found a good hairdresser for highlighting/foil either. I went to Jeric Salon -- it wasn't "horrible" because they used Aveda products so the color (ash blond) was really nice. But their technique was not good at all. They messed up on some of my strands and I asked them to correct it on the spot. The whole salon visit took more than 4 hours but at least they were nice and didn't charge me extra when I asked them to do color correction.

I've been told by the Aveda Store to try Fox Studio in Sommerset.
