Mascara

Post by Green0131 » Sun, 11 Dec 2011 7:48 pm

I came to Singapore a few months ago from Japan.

Does anyone know good mascara?

I tried Maybellin, Revlon and some Japanese and Korean ones, but all of them melt very easily. They make me look like a panda!! Of course I chose waterproof ones!

I didn't have this problem in Japan. It's very hot and humid here, so it's very difficult to keep my eyes look good.

Should I try eyelash extension or get them permed??

I have been wondering this too. I have tried a few from Sephora, waterproof, of course, and they melt under my eyes too. The only thing that works for me so far is the Voluminous L'Oreal waterproof from the States. I am scraping the bottom of the tube now. Anyone know where to buy that one here?

Makeup sadly just doesn't last long in this climate. So, after a few months of doggedly applying mascara every morning (and looking like a panda by afternoon), I finally went to have my lashes permanently dyed and permed. It doesn't wilt under the heat of the midday sun, I don't have to worry about the colour running, and I don't have to waste time applying it every morning. :D

The only catch is that it ain't cheap. I have mine done at Browhaus (I'm sure there are other cheaper places around, but I like the professionalism of the services there). They always do a beautiful job and my lashes look 'naturally' lovely - not too over-the-top. :)

I'll think that my lahes are permed. It seems better here...

I haven't tried dollywink but I use another Japanese brand called Fairydrops. Got it at Watsons. It's pretty awesome. separates my lower lashes well.

Dear KylaSlips,

Thanks for your post!

Doesn't Fairydrops melt while it is on your eyelashes?? I really hate it! Any mascara is ok as long as it doesn't melt...

Hi,

I've finally found the mascara which doesn't melt easily! It's the hyper curl volum express waterproof cat eyes from maybelline. I've put on for 2 weeks, I have to admit sometimes it melts a little, but it's quite ok.

If you have any other good ones, please let me know!
