I read quite a lot and this sounds interesting. To follow the pattern, I am 31M and stay in Novena.
What format did you have in mind?

I was thinking along the lines of once every two weeks we pick a book, go away, read it, meet somewhere, drink coffee's, discuss, debate, decide on another book and so on?????
Any other ideas welcome as I have never set something like this up, I am just a bit of a square and love reading and it would be good to chat about different topic afterwards..........

Sounds good to me. I find that the best books I read I normally get started on because I have gotten a recommendation from a friend. Let me know when you want to get started.

Hy Everyone,
What a good response! Ok so how about we all meet up and have a chat about how this should work, and perhaps even decide on the first book that we should read? Are the weekends good for everyone or week nights?? I think as a few of us come from different areas it would make most sense to meet somewhere central, like on Orchard where there is of course lots of places to get drinks or coffee's.
All suggestions welcome and we'll go with the majority?
Hope thats ok,
Katie

Somewhere central works for me. Actually anywhere is fine with me, after all Singapore is a small island : )
I would prefer weekday, but if the majority wants to do it on a weekend I am ok with that as well.
docta123, why don't you have a think about the first book. Later on we can rotate the suggestion responsibility. Oh the pressure.... : )

Docta - a good place for that would be the cafe/restaurant at Borders at Wheelock Place. Have had a couple of lunches there and the coffee people can coffee, the chardy people chardy, etc etc. Plus - it's a bookstore!

Ok Is Saturday the 1st Otober enough notice for everyone? Please specify in your responses if AM or PM would be most suitable and we will go with the majority
Time and place to be confirmed nearer the time but will be somewhere on Orchard Road.
Looking forward to your reply's!

It's my favourite online platform to get books and usually cheaper than those sold in Singapore. Shipping may take a few weeks, but well worth it....
