Feedback about Chatsworth International School

Post by vicvic » Thu, 23 Aug 2007 8:13 am

Hello, I'm relocating to Singapore soon, and am keen to place my kids to the best International School possible. Many of the big schools such as SAS, UWC and Tanglin Trust have wait lists. Chatsworth has places for my girls. Could you give me feedback about this school? Many thanks in advance

Type Chatsworth in the Search Field and tick the "Display results as: Posts" radio button. It will return around 80 messages. These might save waiting for someone to happen to read your post and have had an experience there.

We looked at 3 schools and Chatsworth was one of them.
They painted a good picture and the school looks ok and the teacher in my sons year was ok as well.
My son did not like it and preferred to go to OFS and it was to be his choice as he was going to school and not us.
After filling the application in for Chatsworth, I then contacted them to decline the offer of a place and thats when the fun started as they became very unfriendly and the main issue was then money!!!
My company had to pay a deposit for me filling in an application form....so I think my son was a good judge and he now absolutely loves OFS
I just think the school could have and should have been a bit more truthful and accepted my son's decision...obviously they are not all for the children be able to choose for themselves!
I have no grudge against them, this is facts as it happened.
They do have lots of after school activities, but so do all the rest.
I think the best move was us letting our wee boy look around the schools and get a feel for himself and not just making a decision which suited us and it seems to have worked. good luck.

Did OFS commit to a place before filling in the application form do you recall? It's just that they said they are full but to complete the application forms and apply anyway. I'm just wondering what our chances are before we actually get there. Maybe this is just how the system works.....Thanks for any input you might have.

I cant recall what they said, but the person we dealt with was called Soma Matthews I believe and she was really helpful.
I hope you get your kids in as my son loves it and he was a bit nervous on the first day!
good luck
