well i just told her that anytime she wants an off day, she can tell me. And she replied " I dont need a off day as I have no where to go.But maybe once in a while if I take ,its to go to temple "

In fact, all of us are already going somewhere everyday with the kids.

Thats one thing very sweet of Punjabi maids. they dont want to take unneccessary off days.

Smiles often hide a multitude of sins as well. Have you ever seen a frowning Car Salesman or MLM'r or Time Sharing salesman? Wolves in Sheep clothing. Or for that matter, a teenager trying to get something from the parents (like money or the car). Con artists smile all the way to the bank! (see me smile?)

Not to mention alright, to mention, smiling along with other factors contribute to lines and wrinkles on one's face, so exacerbate the appearance of aging.

hahahha anyways, its just human to have a love life. its ok ,if she has one. But as a adult, a maid must know her priorities. Whatever you do outside, keep it outside, dont let it interfere with your daily work.

Ahem... where do I begin? Firstly I am an Australian citzen who is currently enjoying this wonderful country. Through travels I have always understood there will be varying degrees of social injustice and intolerance.

The things that surprises me the most, is on the whole I have found this forum a wonderful almanac of useful information to the vistor/traveller.

To then read your statement sundaymorningstaple, well to put it mildly, it has totally floored me.

As a forum moderater I would expect you to maintain the balance of contribution to a valid thread.

When you start using said forum to espouse your intolerance or racist attitude to ALL Australians, I find it simply disgusting.

As a proud and tolerant Australian who worships the concept of viable multi culturalism, I will ask you bluntly. What did I "the wanker from down under" - sic ever do to you to formulate such a lowly opion of me? I feel a bit put out that I am generalised in such a demeaning way. Are ALL Australians thought of this way?

If you could take the time to step down from your soap box, I would be greatly interested in reading your answer.

In the meantime I am going back to reading the fantastic input and contributions of other members of this forum. Perhaps it may help with my understanding of how things work over here.

I am sorry if this sounds like a rant, it is very far removed. As you can see I have managed to maintain civility, but would still like to know whay a moderater of a public forum should feel it is right to spread slander about a whole race of people, based upon a generalisation.

That sounds awfully like racism, wouldnt you think?

Anyway, when it is all said and done, I wish all peace and happiness.

First of all, you both should get out your dictionary and actually learn what the term racist actually means. Last I heard, Nationalities had nothing to do with race as all.

Secondly, if you hadn't climbed up on your high-horse so fast and actually digested what I wrote you would have noticed that I did not say that Aussies were belligerent at all. I pointedly inferred that it is a stereotype. (not once but twice!)

Now, I guess I should also ask you two to both check out the meaning of stereotype as well? I reckon you have hear the stereotype of Kiasuism here then?

The only thing that I did wrong was assume she was from Oz. I made a wrong assumption based on her first post she made in this thread where she accused somebody of being a Pom. I've only ever hear Aussies refer to Brits as Poms so it was a likely assumption but a wrong one on my part nonetheless. For that I apologize. As far as the Stereotype? Well, I worked & drank with you guys (the physical working man) for the past 25 years up here and down under as well on the oil rigs. Most up here generally fit the stereotype (an extremely small percentage of the Australian population I grant you) but when you get into Australia itself it's an entirely different kettle of fish and you couldn't find a better people (as long as you aren't trying to work with wharfies unloading your boat! ).

Most expatriates, when overseas, exhibit different characteristics than they do when in the cocoon of their own countries as they are outside their comfort zones.

Sure I read it. It was far from appropriate. Users often blow circuits and behave outside the "terms of use" but its rare that moderators do. Typically it's a moderators job to call out users for ToU violations. Similarly it's the users that should call out the moderators for their mistakes.
