Got a message from my agent today. The ground floor apartment has gone but she sent me photos of another one which is overlooking a building site at the moment. She mentioned Corals @ Keppel Bay is being built and will produce a lot of dust and noise and this apartment is overlooking it directly.

How bad would the noise and dust be? Do builders work through the night and weekends?

They want S$5.3K a month for it but seems steep is the noise is going to be bad.

Corals will be completed in 2018. So you can count on having to bear the construction outside your window throughout your 1-year or 2-year lease. Not a good idea. But the noise is only on weekdays. They cease operation at nights and on Sundays. Not sure of Saturdays.

If you can't bear this, I suggest you look elsewhere.

Give that unit a miss mate. Just beginning constructions now. Find a unit facing Reflections and you won't notice a thing.

Read that u have considered The Interlace before. Are you still considering it?
The place has a big compound. Good for you to walk your dog. Shuttle bus runs to Harbourfront MRT every 15mins (peak hrs) or 30mins (off peak hrs) ... Good size pool and big gym.
Some units can be quite quiet.

Been a while since I last posted as I've kind of tried to forget about the move as its taken so long but I have a start date of May 20th now.

I've just received a copy of my LOI for a ground floor condo at the Caribbean which is great for me as I get a little garden for the dog.

Just a quick question about aircon. Is it usual for the tenant to bear the cost for servicing for aircon units before commencement of the lease?

I'm happy with the rest but was a little unsure if this was normal?

Not before, but during, yes, it is typical.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to all the advice I have received on this forum. You have no idea how helpful it is that people you do not know take the time to answer some dumb questions.

I move to Singapore in less than two weeks and just going through "getting really excited" and then "what the heck am I doing?" moments

Thanks!
Nathan

This might be regarded as the last-minute 'terror-phase'

Once you get on the plane, then you get to finally exhale, and the adventure begins.

Good luck!

I've moved!!

Been here a week now and all is fine except my UK Vet messed up the dog export and to cut a long story short... £500 later and she will be arriving on Friday.

Why did no one tell me how bloody hot it is here?

I played football yesterday and it near enough killed me! 8-)

It is the bloody humidity. Which makes me want to avoid all forms of physical activity, including sex !
