Condo suggestion in Holland/Clementi/Tiong Bahru

Post by FFinSIN » Sat, 04 Jan 2014 9:13 pm

We are in Singapore already one week and we have a three year relocation contract. Now we are looking for apartment. My husband office is located on jurong island and there is a shuttle bus from jurong east MRT to his company, so our target apartment shall be close to green line and it's better on the west side.

We visited several apartments in holland ( sommervilla park, merasaga), clementi ( the parc condo) and Tiong bahru(one jervois). We have two children and We want a quite and convenient place for living, and we walked around those places and the location of the parc is very convenient with 3mkt around and close to MRT, one disadvantage is that I have to carry the stroller up and down the bridge while going to MRT station......

Is there somebody can give up some tips or suggestion for the place of living? We are looking for a 3or 4 bedroom apartment.
Thanks in advance!

Well, the place to search condos on the web is linked at the top of the forum web site. Check it out.
Do you have an agent or are you going to attempt without one?
What's your budget for rent?
Planning to send the kids to International Schools?
Are you planning on hiring a domestic helper?

There's a lot to consider. I assume you've put a fair amount of research and thought into this prior to getting here. There are a number of threads on this forum that cover all this and more, but without your specifics. I happen to love Tiong Bahru. Loads of options for food/drink/shopping within 10-15 minutes by foot. But we're empty-nesters so it's a little simpler. A couple of our neighbors have little babies and get along well though. I'd say this area is more for people who are comfortable with the local culture. Holland and River Valley have a lot of expats but the shops are higher priced, far as I have seen. Anyhow, try reading through the forum and fine tune your questions and I will guess you'll get more responses. =P~

Good luck and welcome to the red dot!

Perhaps you could narrow down your search and look for an agent to source for you or continue browsing on property websites. Or what's your budget? Locations near mrt or places like holland/clementi/tiong bahru are pretty pricey.

My company is working with a property agent for our expats accommodation in Singapore. I can do a referral if you have yet to get a property agent in town.
