Hi ,
My girlfriend is Chinese and she applied for a diploma degree at SIM . She currently works in Singapore and holds WP. She was told ( by Kaplan school when she was checking what courses they offer ) that if she has a WP now her chances to get a student pass are incredibly low . Does anybody knows if it's true ? And what could we do to increase those chances ?
She should get approval letter from SIM in jan/Feb and she is considering to quit her job in jean to take a break before her studies .
In addition her parents are not very supportive for her studying in Singapore so it may be difficult to get their pay sleeps . She was told by the SIM as long as she can provide statement with more than 30k on her account it should be fine.
Any experience sharing or advices are highly appreciated !

I mean just a diploma - 1.5 year undergraduate course before a bachelor degree .

Get SIM to applly for her student pass and get the IPA on hand before you cancel your WP.
Forget about the break and get priorities straight,
- Take break and risk not having a student pass
- Keep working and quit after getting student pass
Simple as that, no one here can predict if a student pass will be granted and personally I do not see why gahmen would disfavour someone on a WP from becoming a full time student.
