Standard Chartered's services is suck

Post by sg_foreigners » Mon, 16 Dec 2013 12:19 pm

I am very disappointed with your banking services. Let me explain the reason:

1. I had applied SC credit card through online services on 6th-Nov-2013
2. SC contacted and sent me a letter to tell me go to the SC's branch to update my new passport
3. I had visited SC's branch at Vivo to show my EP and my Passport with the letter that SC sent to ask me update the pending document, they (a women) had collected my EP and Passport for scanning and told me will update to my application as soon as possible.
4. After more than 3 weeks I still did not receive any card or any letter to update the status is approved or not so I made a phone call to SC to ask. They said my application status still pending for submitting document. I told them I already proceed with that at SC Vivo City branch, they said they will check and revert to me after ask me a lot of questions for verification. At that time I also told them that if they cannot find the document then I can go to the branch to do the submission again. But they said no need so I trusted them and let they find it.
5. Last Saturday (14th-Dec-2013) I went to SC Vivo City Branch and ask again about my application. So SC staff men names: Danny Ong helped me to check the status of my application and on the screen it shown my application had been cancelled because of pending more than 60 days.
Firstly, I did not do any wrong things so if SC cancel my application at least SC must let me know to avoid of wasting my time. Secondly the reason is not correct as my application till now only almost 6 weeks not 60 days.

In conclusion:
1. I did not do any wrong thing and even I was very actively to make the application done
2. All the wrong things from SC and I must to accept that with our any reason and apologize from SC even if I did not go to SC branch to check I will never know what is the status and what is happened with my application
3. SC staffs are all lies to me, they are playing with me. SC's services is suck, lazy and use customer to make fun for them in their poor life.

Hope with this kind of playing on your customers, your bank still can survive for some more time.

I'm their perm employee. No problems with credit card, but ATM card sucks - only StanChart ATMs accept it in Singapore. HUGE inconvenience since there are so few SCB ATMs in here. Outside of Singapore they work everywhere.

Sergei, StanChart is a part of network of 6 banks that share their ATMs. Its called ATM5. So you can use the stan chart card at any atm of these 6 banks.

Even though, local POSB/DBS+buddies gang was more convenient in that account.

I have an annoying problem. My husband & I have a loan with SCB and a Relationship Manager (RM) is assigned to us. This RM has left the bank (about 6 months) to be a property agent. The problem is, he is constantly texting me for referrals. I have already requested him to remove me from his contact list and he got my contact when I was a bank customer. He should not retain my contact after he have left the bank but he is still sending me SMS-es.

Anyone else have this annoying problem?

Have some "friends" scrawl his number in some seedy locations...."For a good time, call 555-55.."

I have been to SCB Tampines branch a couple of times. They have some really hot chicks working there compared to the local banks :D. I didnt really have any problems with them, but then I only have savings and credit card account with them.

Your third conclusion could get you into legal trouble in Singapore unless you could factually prove they did and do those things.

I hate to take sides with a bank in Singapore, they're all terrible IMO. But seeing as how they reject signatures when you forget to dot an I or cross a t even if it's made in person in front of them, it's probably your fault for submitting a different passport than they already had on file.

True! I almost broke my neck several times in the office. Next week I'm going for shoulder MRI scan, probably will have to scan my neck as well. :)

That would be doing him a favor, isn't that so?

contact the real estate agents' council (??) if he still doesn't comply with your request.
