Window safety day

Post by Beeroclock » Thu, 12 Dec 2013 2:19 pm

A reminder/suggestion to check your windows today (or perhaps this weekend). It's one of the window safety days 6/6 and 12/12 suggested by BCA as per below link. I wouldn't have been aware of this myself if it wasn't for a bad incident/accident which opened my eyes to the hazard ... While it's a rare event, a fallen window can cause serious damage including loss of life. If you own your own high-floor apartment you have a legal responsibility here too (in case you mistakenly think it's your condo Management or someone else's responsibility, as I previously did!!). Even as tenant while not legally responsible, you still might want to give your windows a quick check, keeping a safe local environment is in everyone's common interest.
