STDs
STDs
firstly i apologise if this topic is posted at the wrong place..
to my question;
i would like to enquire on the following situation with respect to its relationship with STDs.
General info: i got together with my girlfriend for 1yr plus.. we would like to have some intimate activity that will not cause pregnancy. both of us are first love of each other. meaning to say i am my girlfriend first love similarly my girlfriend is my first love. prior to us being together we have never engaged in any sexual activity.. the closest is masturbation.
1) will there be a chance of us getting STDs if we perform oral sex un protected?
2) in future when we get marry, will there be chances of getting STDs if we perform anal sex?

Maybe not the right forum to ask, but I'll try to answer. It is good that you ask, as being shy about it generally is not a very good idea
If you are both still virgins, and neither has an STD, you cannot "catch" one during sex, whatever kind of sexual activity you perform. Most if not all dangerous STDs can only be caught from sexual activity with a third person that already has the STD - hence the term "sexually transmitted disease".
I think you should also read up on it from a more complete source, such as Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexually_t ... ed_disease or various health portals.
On the pregnancy side, you know you can always buy condoms to prevent pregnancy. No method of contraception is 100% sure, and especially with condoms you have to use them correctly (each pack includes a sheet with instructions).

If they do get into trouble, there is a link in the misc. section at the bottom of the third column on my links page that will get them sorted out anonymously.

Now, now...OP could just be from a very conservative culture or family. You'll be amazed how some people have knowledge of where babies come from but not much else about related recreational activities. Props to him for finding out the truth instead of sheepishly relying on passively-collected hearsay.
I just remembered reading some article about the porn industry in LA from long ago. Some pornstars don't brush their teeth before filming to avoid microabrasions in their gums which would mean potential infection sites through "open" wounds. Low risk, but a risk nonetheless. No difference. Oral is a low risk activity anyways.
"A quokka is what would happen if there was an anime about kangaroos."
You can easily contract EVERYTHING through oral sex, except HIV (but even for that there is a chance). Moreover, there is a chance that some "usual" bacteria (like e coli) can infect and inflame your urinary tract for a while (some of them are not easily detectable and are treated with general antibiotics). In any case, in order to have that your girlfriend should be really really loaded with the infection.

Low Risk isnt the same as No Risk.PNGMK wrote: Oral is a low risk activity anyways.

Douglas, the 68-year-old star of the new Liberace biopic"Behind the Candelabra,"told The Guardian in an interview when asked if he regretted his drinking and smoking habits in light of his cancer battle, that he did not, in part because his disease was caused by oral sex.
"No. Because without wanting to get too specific, this particular cancer is caused by HPV, which actually comes about from cunnilingus," Douglas told the paper. "I did worry if the stress caused by my son's incarceration didn't help trigger it. But yeah, it's a sexually transmitted disease that causes cancer."
Ah no Steve, you'd have to rewind to your first post, and start asking about 'doing anal'. [Reply: 'Hello, and welcome to the forum!'

More seriously, assuming the OP is not a wind-up, the point about STDs (sexually transmitted diseases) is that you need to have sex, to be at risk of catching one.
If you are as OP states, virgins (in all respects), you can't catch one from each other; i.e. you haven't had the sexual activity required to transmit one.
