Newcomer in Yishun

Post by 02132 » Mon, 02 Dec 2013 10:35 am

Anyone in/around Yishun/Bishan/Ang Mo Kio? I'm newly arrived from US but know this part of Singapore reasonably well. Would love to meet others for hawker food or coffee.

There's a decent Japanese buffet at the Northpoint mall. The hawker center in Chong Pang is solid, especially the nasi lemak and carrot cake stalls.

Food-wise, you would do well to stay away from Kopitiam at the basement of Northpoint. For really authentic local fare, yes Chong Pang is your best bet or take your chances with the smaller coffeeshops dotted around. Order ala carte dishes from what the locals call "zi char" stalls.

For the less adventurous there's a Wendy's at Yishun 10.

HoHo
I am a Singaporean here! who stays in Yishun!!!
ok... at Yishun Central 1... there is a coffee shop (Kopitiam)there is this famous awesomely good chicken rice, you can get super nice food like mixed vegetable rice, herbal soup, BBQ stingray... and so on.
just another 3 mins walk you see this stall at block 928. famous laksa! (its a little spicy.. for people who don't eat spicy food, beware!)
then the neighbouring shop.. has this awesome local dessert stall... my personal favourite is ice kachang!
Ta Daaaaa
bored!
