EP Holders must also update MOM either directly or via the employerZeke wrote:Is this only for PR or also an EP has to notify any changes of address?
Change of residential address
To update MOM Work Pass Division through EP Online.
The pass holder/company representative is required to log in to EP Online (SingPass is required). Click on "Change Particulars > Personal Contact Details and Residential Address of Pass Holder" on the left function bar to update the residential address. Acknowledgment is immediate. The acknowledgment page must be printed and kept with the Employment Pass card.

as a PR/SC, failure to update change of address = jail/fine
I can't find the page for the penalty, but more than a few have been sent to jail/fined for not updating the addresses, when things went south ..
Under the National Registration Act, an Identity Card (IC) holder is required to report his/her change of residential address within 28 days.
PS: found it ..
13.
..
(b)
fails to report his change of residence as required under section 8(1);
(ba)
informs a registration officer of an address as a contact address that is false or is not an address described in section 8(2)(a) or (b);
[19/2001 wef 15/05/2001]
..
shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years or to both.

o dear.....
i haven't done anything from my side (i think i don't even have a sing pass to do this) but i did notify the employer/HR department for my new address...If they haven't update MoM i will still have to pay the penalty even i notify MoM now?
What would be the best approach to this?

Relax, the penalty thing applies for PR/SC .. never seen anywhere that says penaltyfor EP, since, if they cannot find you, when you are on EP, your employer is liableZeke wrote:o dear.....

I'd almost agree but I reckon there is pobably a liability for EP holders as there is one for S & WP holders. It wouldn't make sense to leave a loophole like that considering even as an SVP holder, you are required to put you address you are going to staying at on the Em-Disem Card or arrival.ecureilx wrote:Relax, the penalty thing applies for PR/SC .. never seen anywhere that says penaltyfor EP, since, if they cannot find you, when you are on EP, your employer is liableZeke wrote:o dear.....

probably, .. but then again, years ago, EP holders used to have the address of their employers, in the pass, those days when the EP was a laminated paper ... minus photo .. like mine read the office address .. and it was allowed. After all, when we landed we didn't have an address, we were bunking temporary ... those days .. and Income tax and all went to office address ..sundaymorningstaple wrote: I'd almost agree but I reckon there is pobably a liability for EP holders as there is one for S & WP holders. I still think they care a bit-less, as after all, the employer is liable for the pass holder ..

Maybe things have changed ..

Yeah, I know. Remember, I've been here long than you have.
.
Suffice it to say, the reason, I think, that we cannot find anything hard on this is they government wouldn't want readers to think that they are so stupid as to give a pass to someone who cannot even remember to renew their travel documents considering they usually have a 6 month window to do so BEFORE it expires. And even moreso a PEP holder.

Changing our address was one of the more excurciating things I've had do here (we are EP holders). Mostly because the admin-level staff at my husband's place of work are idiots, as are MOM staff.
So if you have the misfortunate of working for idiots make sure they actually do it, and MOM doesn't lose it forget etc....and that they actually do let the rest of the government know (ie, the tax people). They are supposed to but it doesn't always happen. Check, check, and check again.
