Job in singapore

Postby LR » Tue, 04 Jan 2005 6:01 pm

Dear forum fellows

Just a raw summary of my work done yet:
In 2003 I finished the 4-years apprenticeship in information technologies at a Swiss Federal Office. After that i did the 1-year general qualification for the college of higher education. Since i had the opportunity to do an internship abroad afterwards im going now to finish a 4-month internship as IT-assistent in singapore in 1 month. During the specialising last two years of the apprenticeship my field of work was mainly networking. Managing the world-wide swiss embassy network and the swiss gov. network. I did the course for the CCNA as well (ICND) but didnt had the chance to obtain the CCNA certification yet, im ready to to make up anyway. As final thesis i wrote a "Network troubleshooting handbook" mainly based on tcp/ip networks with cisco/3com/baystack/nortel devices.
Not to forget, I'm 22 years old and from Bern, Switzerland.
Speaking and writting german, french, english, (swissgerman) fluently.

So my question is ..... is there any oppurtunity to get a job in singapore to gain practical experience with my level of education?

must be realistic

hi, i think so long as you are not too unrealistic, you should have no problem getting a job in spore if you are fluent in written and spoken english. the fact that you have already worked 4 months in spore should give you an edge and also you are young.

first to do is that you should check out which level of local qualification does your current qualification translate into. Is it equivalent to local diploma or degree in Singapore? must take note that the diploma in spore is very diff to that in europe.

if you have any transcript in german, remember to spend abit of money to have them translated into english. it will help a lot for your job applications.

if you only have diploma, starting salary should be about S$1.6 - S$2.2. but if you have a degree, then it will almost start at S$2.3 - S$2.8.

again, in your case, it will most probably be a local contract and thus do not have too high expectations. however you should highlight to your advantage that you will be instrumental in helping the company in areas like expansion into europe or to be involved in global customer desk or european desk etc.

i'm a singaporean and currently, in your home country, Switzerland. been in Basel for the past 15 months !

good luck !

If you are currently living in Singapore or will be moving there shortly you cannot miss this great opportunity for employment. Have you ever heard of network marketing? It sometimes gets a bad wrap here in the US, but in Asia some of the most respected and wealthy individuals are full time network marketers. The point is this, MonaVie is a brand new international network marketing company that has its international headquarters in Singapore! The company has just launched in Jan of 2005 and is looking for leaders in Singapore right now. The income potential for someone in network marketing is at its largest and strongest within the first year the company launches. 97% of all network marketing millionaires get involved with their company within the first 24 months of its launch. This opportunity is awaiting you in Singapore. If you want to know more about the product go to There is a lot of information on the site and it is all flash, so if you don’t have a high speed connection you might have some problems viewing the site. I would love to send you some free brochures and even an amazing DVD for you to look at. I promise you this is the ultimate job opportunity for anyone going to Asia. Within the next 3 months we hope to be in Thailand and then a month later into Taiwan. In network marketing the greatest thing is you never have to do it alone. I am waiting to assist you in any way I can. Please call right away before too many people before you start to solidify the emerging market in Singapore.
