CPF website down?

Post by alfred2003 » Thu, 14 Nov 2013 8:37 am

Hi, anyone knows that if there's anything wrong with the CPF website? I have been unable to access it from here in Canada for about a week and whenever I click on the website that message of "Access Denied. You don't have permission to access "http://www.cpf.gov.sg/" on this server. Reference #18.ef690317.1384388924.1448d02" just keeps showing up. I understand there was a maintenance announcement by the board around last weekend but the job shouldn't take that long. Since there's no access to the website, I don't even get to find the email address to enquire through.

I just tried to access the site and it works with no problem from this end.

I took the following from the contact page on the site:

For Member-related enquiries, please email to [email protected]
For Employer-related enquiries, please email to [email protected]
For GIRO-related enquiries, please email to [email protected]
For Career opportunities-related enquiries, please email to [email protected]
For Other enquiries, please email to [email protected]

Thanks, SMS. I just got a reply from [email protected] and according to the CSR the website is currently up and runnning well, just like you said. This actually puzzles me because until a week ago the website access had never been a problem in here. I tried several computers at different locations in my city (Vancouver area) with no success at all. Only the messages popping up are the same. I wonder if overseas access to the server has become the real issue after the maintenance. May I know if there's any email contact about technical issues?

I copies and pasted the entire list from the contact page. I couldn't see any link for a webmaster or some such so can't really help there.

That's ok. I'm sending a general email to [email protected] and will see if they can transfer it to the techincal dept or be of any help. Thanks.

Interesting. I get the exact same error message from Houston, Texas, USA.

Makes me suspect that they are cutting off access from foreign IP's to reduce hacking attempts.

Let us know what you find out.

Interesting, SE. And after the affairs here for the past two weeks, it may well make good sense in the short term.

I got a quick reply from the CPF Quality Service Manager's Office asking about my IP address, which I provided later, and they promised to redirect my email to the relevant dept. Hopefully I can get back from them soon. Will keep you posted.

Dallas, Texas the same.
I am not sure if this has anything to do with last two weeks stories. Well, it may be but I found it weird. It looks more like a proxy/http server level response.

I received another email from the E-Service Department yesterday saying that they had escalated my feedback to the technical team for investigation. Let's see what happens next. They also did ask for our patience and understanding.

You may have to try going through an SG proxy then. Try looking online for that.

Yeah, browsing should OK. But I'm not sure if it's safe to do so when it comes to login.

Working from Sydney, but not from California (via VPN). Quite interesting. Must be all of the Singaporeans that have moved here. :)
