looking for a badminton club or group to play with

Post by emmaj » Wed, 13 Nov 2013 11:49 am

Hi, 32f just moved here with my boyfriend. We're staying in newton for the next 2 months and will then need to move somewhere else into a perm apartment and I am looking to start playing badminton again. Does anyone have any tips on where to start with finding somewhere to play and also people to play with? Thanks, Emma

Hi Emma,
I am Jenny 30 f
living here for 3 months.
I like playing badminton. Joined some meetup groups for playing. Funny Events :)
But there are often waitlists and you have to book slots in sporthalls.
So I prefare playing in condo near woodlands.

Jenny,

Even condo badminton courts (if there is any) would require you to book in advance for a deposit.

For sports halls, it pays to book 2 weeks at 7am before the intended date. That's when the slots are released for booking.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for reply.
Yeah even in condo booking is required. You have a free contingent the week
This bureaucracy is really annoying. Badminton slots are mostly empty on weekend and no common play in team sports like basketball is supported.

On the other hand I understand that there is a need of planning. I would prefare a priority arrangement booking first. Information over placard.
Free entry if no booking at this time. But of cause this is the wrong place for this
