I love Rigby and Peller and John Lewis for bra fittings. La Senza here for bra fitting is awful. Got brow beaten yesterday. I mean, seriously, short, stout, plumpish chinese person a 36D? Seriously?
I had the same experience once at Marks, Finsbury Pavement. Hated that, when they thing that you are huge, enormous, chinese Jordan, try telling them that at 36D it is way to big, with that size it can fit the red dot into it. The SA then looks at you as if you have 5heads and 4boobs

Is there a Rigby and Peller here? I know that there's one in HK now. I had looked on their website it did say that they have but I cannot locate their address

My wife refuses to buy underclothes (and tops) in this country. She sticks to her US brands and stocks up once a year. She's a thin woman but has broad shoulders and bigger bust than the asian build so nothing fits.

Its for me daughter, she is around my height and my size. Of course, this means that we are bigger shoulder wise or boobies wise compared to local. But a teen thats a UK 34A to a 36D, seriously? I tried telling the SA that there is no way that last Christmas when she was fitted at John Lewis she was a 34A, she is now a 36D? I mean she is only a UK size 10.
So, any recommended decent bra fitters? Rigby and Peller?

My wife (in emergencies) goes to M & S - they seem to have UK sizes which work for her there. She has tried the local Victoria Secret who import US Sizes as well (but expensive).

Interesting, Rigby & Peller used to be a one-shop haut-establishment brand in Knightbridge. Specialising in made-to measure. It's where HRH 'Aunt Betty' gets her hosiery (By Appointment to the Queen).

La Senza, is flash-tat, even in comparison to M+S. I'm sure it's all from sweat-shops. Chalk and cheese.

Marked sizing varies by country. The US understate sizes IME. I'm XL in the UK, and M/L in the US. 32" Levi's jeans in the US = approx 34" ones elsewhere. Precisely the same experience for my wife, re: bras. She was so 'petite' that perhaps only 10% of the range was available to her at Victoria's Secret etc...

Daughter is mortified A lot of tat were in La Senza when we were there yesterday. We only bought cotton bras. It has sat unopen in her room. She is mortified and continues to be. I had wanted her to be measured again, you know, she is a teen, but from 34A to a 36D?
I am still stumped
Rigby fitting is very very good. Coming second is John Lewis.
Marks do great bras but their fitters are hopeless.

My wife used to get terribly excited when she was able to get into something labelled as size 6 (or what ever), as she was size 8 in mean old England You can't rely on it. They seek to flatter you.

34>36 I can see, A > D, that's really silly (IMHO).
I can understand your experience re: the three retailers. The pinnacle of speciality product, > John Lewis/Peter Jones/etc where the staff own the company, they often work there for life, and care and know the product. M+S, often great product, but a lot of short-term and casual workers.

My wife buys Triumph and the sales assistants seem to be very helpful and the bra's reasonably good quality.

Bras by Spanx are sold in a few Singapore department stores. Robinson's and Tang's come to mind, but there are probably other stores here that carry this line in their lingerie sections. Spanx is a U.S.-based clothing line and has lots of Western sizes.

Victoria's Secret might be your best bet if you're looking for someone trained in bra fittings. Their staff might be better trained than someone who works at a department store. I haven't been to a V/S here, but the employees might be better suited to do measuring because underwear is all they sell, versus a large store that sells everything.

But as far as getting measured for a correct size, keep in mind that one style of bra might run larger or smaller than another (kind of like when you're buying regular clothes).

Get mine from M&S. Fitters are hopeless so you have to help yourself.

Then its about trying a couple of them based on the above and you should be able to find the perfect fit. Worked for me.

Regardless of brands, remember that you need to look for larger bra sizes for three-quarter cups and smaller bra sizes for demi cups.

And La Senza is ridiculous. They probably make superficial women here happy, thinking that they hit a D cup when they're actually an AA in other brands, but they ain't fooling me.

Local Victoria's Secret shops here do not sell lingerie. What a joke! You will need to either place order via the shops or buy them online.
