Buy it from the UOB exchange counter in T1/T2/T3 when you leave Singapore. GST free based on a spot prices. They sell 20G,100G, 1/2 ounce and 1 ounce sizes. ONly available during business hours (9 to 5, M - F).

You've got to be kidding me!

I thought you ended up at an indian airport wearing a lot of gold jewellery and looking rich
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

i've been hoarding bullion for more than 10 years (more than 15 i think?) - back then there were no freeport/swiss precious metals or other specialist IPM storage companies and GST of 3% was still payable...

how much physical gold are you storing? if you're talking about a few handfuls of american gold eagles... i would keep them at home in a securely bolted and locked safe.

if you're talking about many many kilos... i use a regular safe deposit box that can hold what i want to put in it. depending on size, each box is a few hundred bucks a year and i keep other personal stuff on top of the gold.

for some ridiculous reason i prefer having a box that is on the lowest tier - if you have a specific requirement you need to ask and see if the centre can make it happen for you.
