Window Cleaner

Post by A.Siney » Tue, 29 Oct 2013 9:20 am

Can anyone recommend a reasonably priced window cleaner? I have had one quotation so far for a 4 bed 2 storey house and it was $650 !! outrageous.

If you live in a 4-bed 2-storey house in Singapore, they probably assume you can afford it.

If you have a DH, give her old newspapers and send her out there on her own. That's the Singaporean way for those who don't want to pay.

No helper and some high windows so would need someone with a large ladder. Our last window cleaner in Hong Kong would only charge us $90 so think the mark up here is ridiculous.

But have you only sought one quote?

As with any workmen/builders etc., there will be those who aren't really that interested in the job, and will cynically pitch it super-high, just in case you're a 'rich ignorant fool' and happen to go for it. Precisely the same happens to me back home, when tendering buildings jobs.

Do any neighbours have a window cleaner, can you ask them?

p.s. Cleaning windows is actually a very quick and satisfying job IMO. Less fun though if you're having to use ladders for access.
