Well we had a topic recently that discussed the film Wag The Dog, where 'real life' events were scripted, for the political advantage of the President of the US.

Watch the above clip from yesterday. Real or scripted?

I don't know. The woman has some sort of patch or maybe wireless mike? taped to her triceps on her left arm. You can see it (white) as she is escorted off.

News stories said she's a Type I diabetic. Could've been that her blood sugar was low.

Stand a pregnant Type-1 diabetic up for hours, right behind Obama. Who would do that?

Did you note how the people on either side of her are smirking all along, before the event?

I think it's the pregnant-pause after acting 'The Rescuer', where he silently waits for the slow-to-come applause, that decides it for me. It's creepy.

People in life who spontaneously help others, do so without wishing, never mind sitting around waiting, to be thanked.

If it is fake, it is quite incredible that political fakery has come this far.

You need to go out more.

One virtue of retirement, is you have ample time to observe and consider.

It amuses me that you have swallowed the media line hook line and sinker, and think *I'm* the one over-thinking it. It explains the original charade. Busy people don't have time nor inclination to notice the lie.

Get off your high horse and stop your intellectual masturbation. It offends me that you accuse me of drinking the kool-aid without thinking.

If you want to shine light on the lies, look at the NSA, the free trade agreements, or the military treaties.

Your baseless accusations are offensive--and that includes the one directed at me. SMS dislikes Obama probably much more than you do but at least he tries to present more solid arguments than an old movie. You sound like one of those frothing-at-the-mouth tea partiers.

I've no idea what apparently caused such offence? :???: I thought it was a discussion.

If 'fainting lady' is fake, there must be an audience that is expected to buy it. If so, I find that incredibly scripted and cynical. I now understand Obama has something of a history of publicly 'rescuing' fainting ladies. Statistically significant, as I don't recall any other US president, of indeed national leader doing the same. You baldly say 'I need to get out more', but that hardly leads the conversation along in a constructive way does it?

A frothing at the mouth tea-partier? That's polite of you. I don't know what 'The Tea Party' stand for, do you, presumably something unpleasant given your tone?
