Renewal of S-Pass (HR Requirements)

Post by SGlover » Tue, 15 Oct 2013 9:25 pm

Dear all,

My S-Pass is about to due for renewal in 4 months, can any expert let me know what are the things my HR needs for renewal of S-Pass.

Obviously my HR would know this. I am just asking for my general knowledge.

Thanks

From you? Only need to know if you want to renew your S pass or if you want to go home. The rest they already have.

I meant what are the docs which HR needs to submit to MOM on S-Pass renewal?

Like
- Passport Copy
- Current S-Pass Copy
- Any other doc?

No docs at all. They've already gotten your docs that were required when you initially got your S pass. Unless of course you have gotten a new passport that you have not yet given to your HR department.

Thanks SMS,

Yes I did renew my passport last year and immediately next day passed my new passport copy to HR to update MOM's record.

Thanks for info that HR just need to pay fee and apply renewal.

Appreciate info.

Question – Last time when I got my S-pass my salary was S$ 2980

and now it is S$3289, when sms say HR just need to apply renewal, I am curious how MOM will know my current salary?

Afaik employers are obliged to update MoM on the salaries of pass holders when they change.

It's updated on the renewal form.

just curious. how did you end up with 3289 $ ? because of percentage annual increment ? :)

if I am friendly with the powers-be, I would ask the pay to cross the 3,300 mark .. since there is plan to up the Pass minimum pay to 3,300 .. :)

that's just my 2 cents ..

Heckl, if you are going to be so kapoh, you should tell him to ask for 5K just to make sure.

After all, now that he's gotten his renewal, probably for 24 months, the boss can save that until just before the next renewal. By then he will have almost saved enough for the 1st month's increase at the new increment minimum.

Thanks a lot ecureilx & sms for kind suggestion.

I really don’t mind any type of pass - as long as Govt. approves, I am thankful to MOM.

Applied PR in 2010 - got rejected, now don’t foresee myself re-applying PR in next 4 - 5 years because I read this useful forum and know the direction of wind :)

i know what you mean .. yes, kiasu .. but i worked for a small time boss, who put 1,820 $ in my then Pass application (more of a sales commission oriented job with commission amounting to more than 4K .. ) and his justification was "I am paying more than the S Pass requirement .. or am I not ?? "

Well, Promptly MOM rejected the pass application .. that was when S Pass was introduced ..
