The norm is that the ideal time to apply for SC is after the first REP renewal.

Do your PR approval letter state "We are pleased to inform you that you and your family members are eligible to apply for Singapore Citizenship after two years of permanent residence in Singapore."?

Hi tidus, there's no such statement in my PR approval letter.. does this mean that the chances of applying for citizenship is quite slim??

thanks!

No, it just means you would probably not be successful until after you have renewed your re-entry permits the first time.

I was under the (wrong?) impression that this is standard verbiage on all PR Approval letters. Is that not the case?

They have several different letters that they use. Just as they have several different rejection letters that, by intent, we can surmise what they are indicating based on lots of anecdotal evidence that we have gotten over the months/years here.
