Singapore Customs - What to Expect

Post by bat21 » Wed, 09 Oct 2013 11:06 am

Hi Guys,

I have got the Offer letter from an Singapore Organization and IPA letter from Singapore MOM. I am flying on 19th now. I have a big concern what Original Documents I have to carry at the time I land in Singapore.

I am carrying following documents:-

1) Original Hard-copy of my Offer Letter from Singapore Employer
2) The Print-out of the IPA letter.
3) Of-course my Passport :)

Senior members kindly suggest what else should I carry in my Cabin Baggage and what all questions should I expect from Singapore Migration/Custom Officers.

regards

Items 2 & 3 are enough and then I wouldn't expect any questions.

customs is interested in contraband and narcotics .. if you don't plan to bring any of them, don't worry ..

What you can carry in cabin ? Where are you coming from ?

this is from Changi Airport, but generally applies for almost all airports ..

I just came in early September. Showed my passport and the IPA letter and waltzed through immigration. The lady even gave me 90 days but my wife only got 30 (she's Japanese and I'm from the US). Very simple. You won't have any trouble at all. :D

Yes it is. Once you get your green card, it is multiple-entry visa on its own.

I don't know .. and I forgot what it was before for those holding Indian passports ..

do some search if IPA = visa approved for one entry

Lynx: does it state in the IPA that the IPA is a one time entry visa ?

At the bottom of IPA (I think) there will be this line: "The IPA also serves as a Single-Journey Entry Visa" or something like that.
