How hard it is to get a PR as a malaysian ?

Post by Zephyrus7 » Mon, 07 Oct 2013 9:40 am

Hi guys i have just graduated from a reknown university, currently 23 yo, gotten myself an engineering job in singapore. I plan to apply for PR after this 1-2 years. However, I am an expat, contracted from the malaysian branch for 3 years in singapore. It is unsure whether I will be sent back to malaysia or not after this period (as it is a rotational graduate programme). I command a $4000 salary/month so I am wondering should I go for it? If i fail during the application process, how long that I need to wait for reapplication? The worst case scenario is such that I fail the application, and being sent back to malaysia without any chance to get to apply other SG companies freely.

Also, how does being single vs couple/married affect the chances of application? Safe to assume single having better chances as no dependencies?

Any other things that I should know?

Are you Chinese Malaysian? If so, by today's odds you have a fair after two years. Of course anything can change between now and then.

Yeah from what I read 2years is the norm. Saying that I applied after 6months of being here and 5months after submission we got our PR.
