Hi,
I'm currently in EP but got an job offer and wanting to leave my job
end of Oct 2013 as my new job offer requires me to start work on Jan 2014.
Is it possible for me to travel around Asia for the whole Nov 2013 and then
come back to Singapore during Dec 2013 and start my new job in Jan 2014?
I know that after cancellation of EP, I can legally stay in Singapore for one month.
And If I re-enter singapore, I get 30 days as a tourist.
So I was wondering if above strategy works?
Please do let me know. Thanks alot !!!

Did you bother to read today's papers? About the ITguy who's been here for a while with his wife and two kids. His renewal got rejected. Found another job, better but still got rejected again. Will be going home shortly. I find people who change jobs while on EPs in today's political climate have a high risk appetite and like to gamble on long shots.
Good luck.

I think it is better to secure your IPA first, before you cancel your current EP.

Why don't you wait until you get the In Principle Approval for the new job before you quit your current job. IPA is valid for 3 months before you have to get your new EP issued.

In the current climate, very likely.
Suggest that you apply first, get the IPA like what the other posters said, and then only commence your resignation.
