Hi,

I was using the Raffles Medical Group Clinic at Ngee Ann City that stocked Levermir and NovoRapid insulin and was given to me free on prescription, my company policy was AXA CliniCare.

Hope this helps, better late than never ;)

Cheers

Chris

Does anyone know if you need a prescription in JB to buy insulin?

I'm a type 1 diabetic currently in the UK and I have been offered a job in Singapore. However, I can't seem to find any information on the cost of insulin in Singapore, if anyone knows roughly what a 5x3ml cartridge box or a 10ml Vial of Levemir, Humalog or Novorapid would cost then please let me know!

I've found prices for needles and test strips and they seem comparable to the UK, when I've bought off prescription in emergencies.

Obviously living in the UK all my Diabetes supplies are free of charge so I need to know roughly what I will need to budget for supplies in Singapore, if the cost is too high then unfortunately the move may not be worth it.

Thanks in advance.

have u taken this?

i just started shopping around for the cheapest deal for glucerna, and this online is slightly cheaper.
not too sure about needles and stripes though, have not bought those before.
Singapore is kinda expensive for health care products :(
costs abt 20% more in ntuc supermarket, and more in cold storage.

Yes, but if a pharmacy says no, go to another one ...

Quite often they just don't bother with prescriptions.

Hi Mr Fence, did you make the move? I’m trying to do as much research as possible before my husband negotiates his Singapore package but am feeling pessimistic about my T1 diabetes care, even access/ cost to insulin. Any happy stories to share?

Hello, it’s type 1 which is an autoimmune disease, like coeliac or psoriasis. Its not like type 2, so I’m not sure how your friend could help but thank you for offering.

Am not too sure whether you heard about ageloc technology?
As for your autoimmune disease, I am not doc..but I do roughly read thru from Google. It all about cells.
And what I understand this ageloc technology is focus on tackling our cells.
Even though we did not know each other but I hope my little sharing could help to ease your misery.

You are on warning. If you have something to share, share it with the commnity and don't ask them to PM you. Otherwise, we moderators think you are trying to peddle something to our members, and we don't allow that.

You have been warned.

Thank you but it’s ok, I’m not miserable. Just in need of 2 types of insulin and glucose measuring and doctors. It doesn’t stop us doing anything!

The forum moderators choose to enforce policies that prevent spamming. Nothing prevents vizpar from PM'ing anyone. If his message remains in the Outbox it is only because the person he sent it to has not read it.

A common spamming technique is to do so through PM's. We make our judgments based upon IP addresses and similarity to schemes we've seen before. Sometimes we make a mistake. If the person who was warned feels it is unwarranted, he is free to contact any moderator or the administrator to state his case.

Meanwhile, each of us moderators deletes a dozen or more spam posts PER DAY. We're not trying to drive away new members, we're trying to keep these board from being filled with solicitations and offers from shills.
