Rgding SPASS cancellation

Post by foxgp » Mon, 30 Sep 2013 9:55 pm

My friend's Spass was just canceled by his employer. I read from MOM's website, he suppose to get a 30 days short term visit pass upon the cancellation of his Spass together with the cancellation letter.

But his employer just sent him the letter. He still want to stay here for a few days. Anyone know how to get that short term visit pass?

Many thanks.

Make a trip to MOM and ask them to issue the pass there. You need to show them your cancellation letter.

Why did the employer "send" him the letter instead of giving it to him? It should have been given to him on his last day of work. Something sounds fishy.

Thanks. and you r right. He's not getting along well with his boss. The boss just don't want to help.

So just bring the cancellation letter to MOM will do? no need through his boss?

I think he meant sent by email. When my employers changed couple of years back, the EP cancellation letter and the 30 days SVP was sent to me in pdf form by email.

Yes, the letter was sent to him by email. For the 30 days SVP, is it sent together with the letter or need the employer apply? The boss said he don't receive the SVP from MOM... not sure if he's lying or what.

It could be possible, that the SVP needs to be "applied for", may be a tick box, by the employer. May be the boss just didn't notice it for some reason. Anyways, just do as SMS says. Go to MoM.

The boss surely has an option to print the visit pass or download it from the EP Online website. The boss or HR has to login to EP online and there they have an facility to download the visit pass for 30 days as a PDF.

Yep. We do it every time we let one go. Not a issue at all. Sounds like the employer being a jerk.

Today went to MOM with my friend, bring the letter. MOM told still need the employer to print the SVP. If the employer fail to do so, he needs to give a explanation to MOM. So call the boss down. settled. It looks his boss really doesn't know how to do this, and also doesn't want to do... a jerk indeed.
Thanks for your prompt help my friends. hv a nice day :)
