Friends need your help and suggestion...
I am on EP (P1) in Singapore and my wife is also on EP (P2). We are expecting a baby soon. We are hoping to bring her mother over for around 6 months to Singapore.
However, I understand that a P1 can not get a Long term pass for his MIL and since my wife is P2, she cant get long term pass for her mother as well.
What options do I have to bring her over for around 6 months.
I understand that If we get her over on Tourist visa then it can be extended for additional 1 mnth ie. total 2 months stay only.
Please suggest.
Thanks
Kumar

Extending a tourist visa is not guaranteed so it's best NOT to assume you can.
Short answer: no, you can't have your mother in law in Singapore for 6 months.
So, what are your options? They all involve at most 5 other people besides your mother in law.

1) engage a maid (since you are on P1 and wife on P2, I am sure you can afford

2) After the 2 months visa, let MIL go back to India, apply for another visa and come back
Saw a friend doing it - he sent his MIL to Malaysia, and got a new visa, but that came back for 1 month, so, 2 months, 1 week in Malaysia, and 1 months .. no, I don't know how it works .. you can do some search on that if that's ok ..
