Family condo distric 10 (Holland, Tanglin)

Post by coello_maria » Fri, 06 Sep 2013 6:01 pm

Hello everybody,
We will be moving to Singapore soon.
We are looking for a condo in district 10. THere is soooo mcuh to choose from that we are totally confused.
We have two kids ages 5 and 9 and would like to find a codo with good family life. We are looking for a place with families with children (preferably expats like ourselves). We would like to be close to supermarkets and an MRT station if possible. Our budgest is quite generous (close to 20,000). Could you please let me know what the best condos are in thsi area? THank you!

With your budget, this condo comes to mind: The Holland Collections.

On Holland Road, in between Holland Village, Singapore Botanic Gardens, Tanglin/Orchard shopping area, Jelita/Taman Warna shopping area. Very exclusive. Most of the residents are expats. International Schools are close enough. Plenty of buses ply through that road.

If you want landed property (especially the classic black-and-white ones - Google it/ask here if you wanna know what it means), you can look into Moonstone Road area (also mostly populated by expats), which is even closer to some International Schools and supermarkets. And still within reach to Holland Village AND Rochester Park.

With this budget you may go for Shangrila Residences (20k should be just fine) but whether here or there hard to say anything on the family life. I would not link it with a condo* especially such highly priced. People just come and go.
Find the place you like -> if not critical mass of targeted families and you are not able to get what you want through your kids school -> get a membership in one of the national clubs (British, American etc.).

*) with such budget people rather prefer landed properties.
