I am a singaporean and my wife is a foreigner, we are young and recently married and we're trying to get settled in singapore rather than her country.
She's tried applying for every and any job for a while now but to no avail. The market for foreign labour has really been hit hard by the government's measures i can tell you that much.
In fact some of the hiring managers we talked to have mentioned that perhaps we should arrange for her to get a Long Term Visit Pass as it will help the employer avoid having to pay a hefty levy fee for WPs or S-Pass.
I'm a little confused. I understand that LTVP+ allows a foreigner married to a singaporean to work in singapore without the employer having to pay for levy as long as they can get an LOC.
For a normal LTVP however, the employer is not required to pay levy and the spouse does not count towards the foreign worker quota, am I correct?
Will getting my spouse an LTVP help her find employment in singapore?
Thank you for any answers that will help us.

Call the relevant government bodies to check man. Answers from forum can be misleading at times so do give them a call. MOM or ICA

LTVP does not allow holder to work. LTVP+ does (it gives LOC like how a DP would be given). But you need to be married at least 3 years or with a child to be eligible for LTVP+, not sure which one precedes. Info is in ICA website.

That only applies for Work Permits. Employment Passes still must qualify as do S passes.
Applications for an Employment Pass or S Pass will be assessed based on prevailing criteria (i.e. educational qualifications, salary, occupation, and experience).
Applications for a Work Permit (WP) will depend on the LTVP holder's relationship to their sponsor:
If they are a parent/parent-in-law of the sponsor, they must be from an approved source country and meet the prospective company's dependency quota. The foreign worker levy will apply.
If they are a spouse or unmarried child of the sponsor, there is no need for foreign worker levy to be paid. Their employment will not be counted towards the company's dependency quota. They do not need to be from an approved source country.
