I wonder whats going on in Assad's mind. I think by now he is also laughing about it :)
I think Obama has the mandate to say go ahead and bomb them ..... alas the majority of the electorate dont seem keen on it.

Thats the annoying thing about democracys at times , you have to look at the long game. :D
I heard Kerry on the BBC saying this - we may be ok after all!

Good news for the world all round.....

Not sure what the folks fighting Assad are gonna say though.

"Accidentally" is the key word here. John Kerry is Joe Biden's "brutha from anutha mutha." He very seldom realizes what he says until someone tells him afterward....Neither are as dumb as a box of rocks, but almost!

That being said, thank God this has been turned around (at least for now)....

As someone else said to me; "Kerry looks stupid, sounds stupid and is stupid". I do wonder how accidental this is - I was listening to it live though and he was trying to back peddle from it.

I reckon still a good chance of them going in ........

How this "handover" of weapons is gonna work I have no clue.

Did you see that the "rebels" are a bit miffed and want the attacks to be done a.s.a.p

This whole thing is not gonna end well, if it ends at all.

"Kerry looks stupid, sounds stupid and is stupid."

This is pretty accurate. He's from my home state in the US, and is known more for his off the cuff gaffes than any legislation he's ever worked to pass....Hopefully this is one instance where his inability to fully process information works to everyone's advantage.

And here I am, wondering why it seems too easy for idiots to become politicians...

Weiner is the answer... presentable enough to snag and appeal to voters but unemployable in any other profession even by his own admission so politics is the only place left to go. (He's out of the NY mayor race - 5% of the votes - even the lovely Huma Abedin couldn't save him).

Nothing accidental about it at all, I don't believe. Putin and Obama did meet privately just a week or two ago. It would be hard to believe that they did not discuss Syria, and I think this was the outcome. Russia gets to keep its satellite ally, Syria, and look like the good guy, Obama gets to back of his highly unpopular war threats, and while there is no way to tell about chemical inventories for sure, maybe, just maybe, the threat of chemical weapons use in Syria is reduced.

All calculated and choreographed.

When I saw the clip, I thought Kerry was being sarcastic, condescending and dickish.

Our Man Putin .......

From Yahoo News,

"In his commentary, Mr Putin maintained his steadfast support of Syrian President Bashar al Assad, writing there was "every reason to believe" it was not the regime, but rebel forces who used sarin nerve gas in an attack on August 21"

Putin continues to be very vocal about this issue.

I found the last paragraph to be most interesting, a bit ironic, but nonetheless interesting.
