Should our New Year celebrations like the Nation's Countdown 2005, be toned down or cancelled in light of the tsunami disaster?

I thik the events can proceed but should be toned down

suffering and sadness about the tsunami will I REPEAT WILL not stop me from my count down and partying
immortality cant not be gifted it can only be earned, so let your courage be your sword, let your faith be your shield and destiny guild you.
