Foreign universities too are feeling the heat!

Postby Wd40 » Tue, 20 Aug 2013 6:44 pm

Although not relevant to the above link, I always thought Singapore is really a poor return on investment as a destination for higher education for foreigners considering:
1)Wages are low, so its hard to work part time and make up for the costs
2)Tighter work visa regulations mean its hard to find work here as a fresh graduate so its even harder to recover your costs.

We have seen several posters from NTU and NUS kind of top notch universities, having problems with finding work and visas.

I hope students of the future make their due diligence before coming here.

IF I were going to do a PHD - which is damn hard work - I'd do it as a better uni.

I'm shocked that Singapore Gov is acting shocked on this. HK vs SG in regards to freedom of speech and expression? It's no contest.
