Yet another Indian applying for PR

Post by blackswan2 » Tue, 20 Aug 2013 2:17 pm

Yet another Indian PR applicant !!

Some details about us :

Me :
Nationality : Indian
Education : Masters from NTU
Term of stay : 4 years in Singapore (1.5 study, 2.5 work )
Work : Research Engineer in NUS in renewable energy area
Pay : 3.5k p.m :( ( I know its low!! . But I get opportunity to convert my work to partime PhD .. So I stay here )
Pass : S pass ( downgraded from Q1)

Spouse

Nationality : Indian
Education : Masters from a recognized uni in Europe
Work : Programmer
Time of stay in Singapore : 1.5 years
Pay : 3.6k p.m
Pass - Q1.

We ourselves would give us only 20% chance in PR approval.. But worth a shot !
My query is which would be the best way for us to apply ?
1. Both of us by separate PTS scheme ?
2. Me as main applicant ( Stayed longer in Singapore - but downgraded to S pass )
3. My spouse as main applicant ( on Q1- but stayed in Singapore for a shorter period )

Which would help us raise our chances form 20 to 21 % ??

Thanks

Blackswan ~~
:) :)

How long have you been married?

Your spouse only been here 1.5 years is not going help any of the 3 methods of application, especially 1 and 3.

If I were you, I wouldnt even hope for a 20% chance. I mean think about it. Your pass has been downgraded. That should send you some signals. I would say 0%.

You're better off NOT applying now and wait things out.

If you apply now, ICA might as well flag as yet-another-overzealous-to-get-PR-Indian.

Enjoy your s-passes and before they expire, hope that policies or the political climate will change in your favor.
