Apart from nationality, everything else looks great in your application, unless you are not revealing any other relevant information. I cannot think of much cause for rejection.
Wait for the letter in the mail, it might invite you to apply again after a few more months/years.

letter has already came in with no explanation, starting with "after careful consideration your application has been rejected and you can continue living in Singapore on your valid passes"
I have listed all relevant information i could think of

That means they don't want you to apply for PR again unless the government changes its mind about its unspoken policies. Otherwise, the letter would've stated you can apply again after X years.

Yeah looks like pretty much the case here where all logic fails

Nothing is wrong with your application. Save your money, enjoy the work and plan for your next move. Don't take these things personally.

Or perhaps lobby for an internal transfer to the US or UK.

Usually education is not a criteria for people beyond a threshold e.g. P1 Pass holders , Gahmen would assume they continue in other ways.

FaeLle
Not sure if you have an in or not at ICA but from my experience education is VERY important to any immigration application in Singapore. Prior to 2 years ago it was not so important - now it is seen as very important.

+1 - the OP would be need to pull in significantly more (think like Mustaffaa level) before his education would not matter - this is a society that is engineered and eugenics plays a part.
I personally suspect (and this is terrible to say) that his wife's nationality and possibly religion (and hence his) may have played a part. I'm sure ICA keeps not only nationalities and races in balance but also religions.

I heard that even your education plays a part when applying PR. They even ask about your family background etc.
