GUNS Don't Kill People
GUNS Don't Kill People
Yesterday I placed my shotgun on the front porch, gave it six shells, and noticing it had no legs, placed it in a wheelchair to help it get around.
While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the boy across the street picked up my yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the stop sign near my house.
After 10 hours, I checked on the shotgun. It had not rolled outside and it had not killed anyone in spite of many opportunities that had been presented.
Can you imagine how surprised I was, with all the hype about how dangerous guns are and how they kill people? Either the killing is by people misusing guns or I'm in possession of the laziest gun in the world. so now I'm off to check on my spoons, because I hear they make people fat!

Maybe you are on to something there ..sundaymorningstaple wrote: ...so now I'm off to check on my spoons, because I hear they make people fat!

I will donate a pint to start it off

Unfortunately the guy who lives next door to you with a similiar shotgun mowed down the mail man, boy and girl as well as several car drivers.
But it's OK you keep yours because you don't misuse a gun.......................which is what the guy next door to you said a year ago before his wife left him for the mail man, took his kids (coincidentaly a boy and a girl) and the car.

The problem, of course, is why should millions of law abiding gun owners be penalized for the actions of the few?Steve1960 wrote:or...................
You are correct guns dont kill, everyone should be able to own a gun. Let's just make sure they can never get the ammunition as its bullets that kill.
Out of the several hundred thousand concealed carry permit holders in Texas, the only violations have been a failure to pay child support and various misdemeanor violations... no gun crime.
I support gun ownership. All other rights are meaningless if you don't have the wherewithal to defend them.

I'll let you throw bullets at me from 50 yards all day long. Bullets don't kill. They need a gun abuser to do that.Steve1960 wrote:or...................

Frankly, your first post didn't warrant an answer. I'm all for increased gun laws including psychological testing. However, I am not for banning guns outright for the simple reason a baseball bat would be just as effective for your example. In fact, I'd almost be willing to bet more have been bludgeoned to death or knifed for the facts as you presented them than being killed with a handgun or any other type of gun.

The only private individuals that I know who owned their own nuclear weapons were in James Bond movies. I also don't know of anybody who uses them for hunting or target practice either.....

I've been a hunter since I was 14. I shoot for the table. As I have a 202 acre waterfront farm on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, I'm at the southern end of the Atlantic Flyway so duck, goose and deer abound. In fact, occasionally the deer get a bit heavy and hunting season is increased the take so the deer don't starve due to over-abundance. Additionally, I use them to kill vermin like fox, racoon & possums. Why?

I am also from the country and used a rifle when necessary - for plague or danger. I was given my own gun on my 6th birthday - .22. I used a knife on animals breed for food. I grew up. I moved to the city. I buy my food. I do not need a gun. I do not eat wild animals..... each their own. UNLESS you are in the city...then NO ONE SHOULD HAVE A GUN CONCEALED OR OTHERWISE.
