just a few follow up question guys..

1) given my partner and i's background details, would it seem likely i'd be granted a LTVP after registering?

2) also does the LTVP make much difference in terms of employability? i've been applying like crazy using my fiances local Sg address and getting minimal responses. I've been through 6 interviews for a role with HP and one with KPMG via employee referral. I've applied for over 50 roles i think.

Advice? Experiences?

On point #2: Most of my peers apply for more than 100 vacancies and get 5 interviews out of that, they are NOT peanuts I'm telling ya... keep applying, 50 is nothing.

I have always said this, Singapore is a very illiquid job market. i.e. when you really need a job, you may not get anything suitable for 6-8 months also. But then all of a sudden you may get 2-3 offers at the same time and making it nightmare for you to choose.

Reason being the job market is very tiny here. Not that many unemployed and looking for a job, as they cant afford to do so, they will just go home and people here rarely leave their jobs, if its good. Hence when a company has a new position open, they cant find suitable candidates to easily fill their position either, unless they are open to import from abroad.

Very tricky job market if you are a foreigner. The key is to never relax even if you get a good job, always keep looking out to test the market and keep all your sense open to see if your current company is planning any layoffs in future.
