Having a baby and needing to break lease

Post by benjoee » Mon, 15 Jul 2013 12:43 pm

Hi fellow Singapore expats. Myself and my partner are having a baby so we need to move into a bigger place. Luckily our landlord is very reasonable and has stated that we can move without penalty - as long as we find a replacement at no lower than what we are paying now.

We can't afford to pay an agent (who is a months rent = 5300), so we need to do it ourselves. We don't get much movement from our adds placed on this website and ., and only agents can use propguru.

Our goal: to move by October (two months before the baby is due).

So, please - we are open to any advice or experiences on alternative avenues to find us a tenant replacement!

NOTE: we already have paid for an add on Singapore expats. The Singapore expat add is here - so I hope this doesn't constitute and ad and we don't get banned.

We'll keep it up and running - but any advice or help in spreading the word to people looking for a great apartment would be appreciated! Thanks to you all!

Ben
