Employment Pass and Hobby-ish e-earnings

Post by focket » Wed, 10 Jul 2013 10:13 pm

Hi all,

So I've just started up in Singapore with an Employment Pass, working as a full-time employee for an MNC and am trying to figure out the ins and outs of legal issues and allowances and dos and don'ts, so that I don't get caught in an 'oops'...

What's the legal status on having some kind of tiny internet revenue (or source of potential revenue that doesn't actually yield much or anything) on the side? Like hobbyist e-stores or monetizing your blog etc? Do they have to be declared or registered somewhere? And if so, where? :? (or where can I find that info, whatever works. :) )

Thanks!

Technically, verboten.

Whoa! You mean one can't even put adsense on a personal blog, if on EP in Singapore? No option for registration or, idk, tax declaration? :o

Does this mean you gotta close any existing such services in your name upon getting EP as well?

Does it change anything if the account connected to such a service is not a Singapore bank, btw?

Anyway, thanks for the answer. :)
