Looking at his time stamp, I think he must be on the East Coast of the US at the moment.

My daughter watched them at Fishermens Wharf in San Fran.

Spot on, SMS.

Our town has this big bash (as most towns do) but one has to deal with the crowds (many drunk stupid), parking and other related issues.

But, this year we got lucky. A nearby sub-division, adjoining a large pond, hired a professional fireworks team, that launched the fireworks from a pontoon in said pond, and put up a display that rivaled what the town does. And we got to see if from our front yard, sans all the hassles of driving to town center, with access to toilets in our own home.
