English Law CPD

Hi,

Does anyone know of English law CPD providers in Singapore?

I don't want to have to go abroad to satisfy my annual requirements.

I do not know about the UK requirements but I am from another country also with CPD requirements. We can do at least half of our points by reading of journals etc and doing online lectures. Is this not the case for UK?
Also, in my jurisdiction, the CPD has to be relevant to your current work to be counted. So it is possible to undertake a reasonable number of points by being an associate member of the Law Society here and attending some of their CPD sessions.
Perhaps it is something you could ask your Law Society to make a specific ruling on for you?

I can undertake most of my hours by remote study, but there's a 25% minimum requirement for actual attendance to accredited courses and from what I can tell there aren't any such courses run in Singapore (which seems crazy given the presence of English law firms in the city).

Someone suggested that I contact UK law firms and ask nicely if I can attend their in-house training... Which I guess I might try.

At least the English law firm may be able to give you a heads up on what is available here.
