In Houston, that is. Hit a record of 107 F (that's 41.7 C).
Phoenix hit 117 F (47.2 C).
Even higher temps are forecast for today. Yuck!

Ha! You'll be singing a different tune when your car looks like this. Seriously, though, vets are warning people to not take their dogs on hot pavement for fear of burning their paws.

I don't miss burning my ass every time I got in the truck or only walking my dog on grass but I do miss the heat shimmer, the vague smell of rotting and rodeo. You have no idea what I would do for a Dos Equis and a decent burrito.

I loved as a kid playing with the melting bitumen and seeing how many laps around the local pool you could run until you feet could not take it any more.

I don't think any voting is really involved - just scientific observation and collection of data

So it's a choice between sweating uncontrollably and passing out from the dry heat!

I remember when I was in BMT at Ft. Polk, Louisiana, back in '65, only when the humidity hit 98 percent regardless of the temp, was training suspended. And believe me, when the temp was 40 degrees and the humidity was 98% it was miserable in the swamps of Louisiana.

I agree that's very hot weather. I lived in the Phoenix area for a little while and the heat was unbearable in the summer.
BUT.....at least there's relief in the winter, and even an occasional frost. No such relief in Sg.
