FDW's Work Permit cancelled due to delay in GIRO initiation

Post by ramprosoft » Sat, 29 Jun 2013 1:54 am

Last April, I recruited a maid. Today, I got a letter from MOM stating my FDW/Maid's Work Permit has been revoked due to failure in arrangement of GIRO. In fact, the GIRO processing in progress, delayed due to first application got rejected due to slight signature issue. I ensured the levy payment is in time until now. Anyone had this experience or paid levy in other means (non-giro)? Appreciate, your advice. thanks in advance.[/b]

Yeah this Giro thing sucks. AFAIK there is no alternative - if you used an agent ask them for advice.

OP, I used to pay my levy via the Internet Foreign Worker Levy Billing System (iFWLBS - http://mom.gov.sg/services-forms/Pages/ifwlb.aspx) till I got my GIRO Arrangement in place.

You need to call/visit with the WP officials and explain the issue. Assure them that this would get sorted in the next week or two, and to re-instate your maid's WP. Good luck.
