[urgent] My republic internet contract ETC

Post by bkt1337 » Thu, 27 Jun 2013 3:48 pm

Hey guys i got an urgent question regarding internet plans here, as i share a flat with 2 other housemates (all of us are expats) one of them got terminated from his job and has to return back to his country.

Here's the problem, when we got the place he wanted to get good internet hence he signed up for a my republic fiber plan i dont know how this things work i was told that we just split the bill between the 3 of us and that would be it the other 2 of us are ok with it.

So we have internet and its great but because he was terminated he will have to leave and we (technically HE) is only 1 month into this 24m contact the ETC fee amounts to close to 2k SGD.

He plans to just skip town on the internet, or transfer it under one of our names.

i have to ask

1. what will he face if he does skip town.
2. when or if he does skip town and the bill does not come when will MY republic cut the internet?
3. will our flat be blacklisted due to this? assuming he skips on the ETC and the plan is cancelled will me and my remaining housemate be able to sign up for other internet plans?
4. who is liable if he skips town? him? us? the house owner?

the 2 of us really dont want to have this burden on our name and we hope not to get blacklisted if My republic cuts the line.

what are our options?

HE IS LEAVING THIS WEEKEND

If 'he' is skipping on a contract he's going to get blacklisted.

But since 'you' are being so coy about who is who, there's little point anyone guessing at the situation, and trying to make further comment...

@Jr8

Thank you for the reply, i understand how this might come off as coy.

But I want to know is will the flat address will be effected? If he does skip town can me and my other house mate sigh up for another plan?

Why not just take over the existing plan? Why all the angst?

And for future viewers, My Republic offers contract free plans for about $15 more per month. Much cheaper, even only one month in, than paying out the rest of a 2yr contract.
